Annabelle Lee

Our Writers
Leslie Andres and Annabelle Lee

These fine-looking duo are the heart and soul of the operation.

Andres was formerly at NST, where he was one of the paper's top experts in the crime and defence beats.

Annabelle is BTL’s young Padawan. Young she may be, but she began her career at Malaysiakini where she gained years of field experience. She’s interested in politics, culture and the environment.

Edward Gomez

Our Editor-in-chief
Edward Gomez

This handsome chap was formerly at The Star, writing about politics, music and inclusion in education, and is currently researching the field of constructive journalism.

Darshini Kandasamy

A.k.a Darsh Kanda. She’s a multiple Malaysian Press Institute award-winner, don’t play-play. Darsh was previously based in Singapore and Hong Kong, and her work has been published by various media companies, including Malaysiakini, The Washington Post and CNN. She’s also a part-time artist, you may recognise her work in our various special reports, like this 2019 Merdeka special.

Our Product Consultant
Eric Tee

We call him The Oracle. Based across the straits in Singapore, (we don’t judge him for his choice of country of residence) Tee is a veteran of Yahoo and Singapore Press Holdings, where he used his expertise in design and product development to run a variety of successful product launches, and editorial and branded content campaigns over the past decade.

Our late Founder
Marc Lourdes

The One Who Started It All. Marc served as journalist with The Star and The New Straits Times many moons ago. He later became the editor-in-chief of Yahoo Malaysia, Yahoo Singapore and subsequently, Yahoo Southeast Asia before joining CNN as the Digital Director of Asia. He then returned to Malaysia to work at Astro and then Tatler. Sadly, Marc passed away in 2022 in a tragic accident, and our hearts will forever be broken.
